 Randall
L. Beatty, M.D. is a member of the Allegheny Ophthalmic &
Orbital Associates, P.C. He received a B.A. from Washington &
Jefferson College in 1974, a Doctor of Optometry from Illinois College
of Medicine in 1978 and an M.D. from Albany Medical College in 1984.
He completed an ophthalmology residency at the University of Pittsburgh
School of Medicine where he served as chief resident. This was followed
by a fellowship in Oculoplastic, Reconstructive and Orbital Surgery
at the Medical College of Wisconsin. He has served as an assistant
professor at various universities including the University of Pittsburgh
School of Medicine. He is currently the ophthalmologist for the Pittsburgh
Steelers Football Club. Dr. Beatty resides in Sewickley, PA with his

Duane T. Smyth, O.D
joined Southwestern Pennsylvania Eye Center in 1998. He is a graduate
of Pennsylvania State University with a B.S. in Biology. He received
his Doctor of Optometry from the Illinois College of Optometry in
Chicago, Illinois. He graduated from ICO as a member of the Beta Sigma
Kappa Honor Society. In 1986, Dr. Smyth was one of the first optometrists
to pass The Treatment and Management of Ophthalmic Disease exams in
Pennsylvania. In 1998, he expanded the scope of his license by completing
a 100 hour therapeutic course at the University of Missouri, St. Louis.
Most recently, in 2003, Dr. Smyth became certified to manage glaucoma,
the highest certification for optometrists in Pennsylvania. He resides
in Pittsburgh with his wife and three children.< top > |

 David J. Monroe, O.D., earned his B.S. in Biology from the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown. He completed his Doctor of Optometry at the Pennsylvania College of Optometry. He has practiced at the Southwestern Pennsylvania Eye Center since 1998. His work experience includes private practice at Dalmo Optical Center in Tarentum, PA, Wal-Mart Vision Center, and Sterling Vision here in Washington. In 1998 Dr. Monroe received therapeutic certification in the diagnosis and treatment of ocular disease as well as glaucoma certification in 2003. He resides in Pittsburgh with his wife, Beth and three children, Alex, Alyssa, and Austin. < top > |

Ronald Salvitti, M.D. has been in the practice of ophthalmology
since 1973. In 1986 he became the founder and medical director of
the Southwestern Pennsylvania Eye Center. He earned his bachelor's
degree from Washington & Jefferson College in 1959 and graduated
from Temple University's School of Medicine in 1963. He entered
family practice in Washington, PA in 1964. In 1970, Dr. Salvitti
changed his focus to ophthalmology, completing his residency at
the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine at Eye & Ear
Hospital. Dr. Salvitti has since become an innovator in the field
of ophthalmic surgery, designing intraocular lenses for cataract
surgery that have been widely used. Dr. Salvitti has received much
recognition for his work over the years. Most recently, he was named
W&J College's Outstanding Entrepreneur of the Year in 1999.
He has taught various courses in eye surgery, has lectured in 25
states and 2 countries, yet still maintains his home in Washington,
Pennsylvania, and is dedicated to serving the Southwestern Pennsylvania
community.
Jennifer
Salvitti Davis, M.D. completed her Ophthalmology
residency at the Eye and Ear Institute - University of Pittsburgh
Medical Center. Dr. Davis is licensed to practice medicine in the
Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, specializing in the diagnosis and
treatment of eye diseases as well as performing cataract, refractive,
and laser procedures. She is a graduate of Vanderbilt University
with a bachelor’s degree in Molecular Biology. She received
her Doctor of Medicine from Temple University where she became a
member of the Alpha Omega Alpha honor society. Dr. Davis resides
in Washington County with her husband, Ryan, and their three children,
Elli, Will and Lochlan.
Thierry
C. Verstraeten, M.D. is a member of the Allegheny Ophthalmic
& Orbital Associates, P.C. He received his B.S. in 1980 at the
University of Notre Dame of Namur, Belgium, and his M.D. at the
University of Louvain, Belgium. He completed an Ophthalmology residency
at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center and a fellowship
in Vitreo-Retinal Surgery at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal
Oak, Michigan. He has served at the University of Pittsburgh School
of Medicine and Allegheny General Hospital. He has contributed chapters
to many books and scholarly journals. In 1986 he received the Association
for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology (ARVO) Travel Fellowship.
He is a native of Belgium and now resides in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
with his wife and four children.
